Global Network

A key to global success is our global presence, which creates proximity to clients worldwide.

Everywhere in the world, people want to stay mobile as they age. Otto Bock wants to help fulfill that desire with continually improved products and services – in a global growth market. Worldwide, our company employs over 3,700 employees in the two business sectors Orthobionic® and Bionicmobility®. In 2006, we achieved an annual turnover of 447 million euros and continual double-digit annual growth rates. We are present worldwide in 38 countries with own sales and service companies and have direct export contacts in over 140 countries.

A key to global success is our global presence, which creates proximity to clients worldwide. Global presence also allows for a close dialogue with all participants who operate from within different national healthcare systems. Otto Bock consolidates its worldwide activities in the four regions Western Europe, Eastern Europe/ Middle East/Africa (EEMEA), Americas and Asia-Pacific.

Regional structures

Management shapes daily business transactions according to the respective regional and local requirements. The differences between the regional structures prompted us to develop adapted strategies for the markets in Western and Eastern Europe. This was done in consideration of the markets and clients. All the while, we remained faithful to our goal of gaining new market shares and of contributing to the best possible medical-technological fittings everywhere in the world with our leading products. The assertion of our standards on a global level requires the rapid transfer of knowledge, within our company, about new products and concepts in a way that transgresses all cultural barriers.

Our logistics was also optimized in regard to the incoming material supply. This has minimized the need for storage while ensuring that there are no material shortages for production. The logistics center is connected to all business processes via SAP/R3, which accelerates internal processes enormously. The positive experiences of this investment encouraged us to pursue a further investment: For 7.2 million euros, a new logistics center, bigger assembly spaces and a new training center were built in Königsee in 2005/2006.
