Our code of conduct

Our code of conduct

The strengths of our Ottobock family are based on loyalty to shared values that form the foundation of our corporate culture. These values are reflected in the Ottobock Code of Conduct.

We know customer satisfaction can only be achieved through the performance of all employees over the long term, helping people achieve to maximum mobility and independence through our products and services.

Be respectful

People of many nationalities with different religious beliefs, origins and levels of education work at Ottobock around the world. This is why we meet with our counterparts on an equal footing and maintain a culture that allows every employee to express his or her opinion freely and without fear. This attitude requires us to listen, express constructive criticism and resolve conflicts objectively.

Trust others

Our company is defined by the global matrix structure with interdisciplinary teams. Successful cooperation based on trust requires open and honest communication, mutual feedback and being able to rely on each other. We trust our employees and colleagues to make decisions and also allow them to make mistakes.

Take responsibility

With the motto “the right employee in the right position”, we emphasise that we consider the contribution of every employee to be important. This principle requires each employee to recognise the need for action and take responsibility, keep promises and turn words into deeds. Discipline, consistency and forward-looking thought and action are required. We are open to new things and willing to pursue personal development, continue learning and be part of or demand change.

Pursue solution-oriented, integrated thought and action

The complexity of our organisation and processes along with our risk-management system requires process-oriented thinking with proactive communication across touch points. By sharing our knowledge and using the knowledge of others, we focus on our goals in developing solutions. We also identify root causes and consistently eliminate them. A “you can't do that” culture is foreign to us – instead of criticising, we get things done with good sense and reason.

We recognise success

The company objectives are clearly defined by the owner. In order to achieve them, we support great dedication and personal initiative. We enjoy success and positive outcomes, and we make them visible at the company.
