Ease of Stance Release
What does that mean?
For many amputees, the thought of walking on uneven or soft ground can be unnerving and an anxiety inducing experience. It is important that the knee provides stability but also allows maximum functionality. The C-Leg 4 does just that, it has an array of sensors which include an inertial motion unit. This monitors where the knee is in real-time in 3D space. As the user walks forwards the sensors, detecting every 0.01 second, register a step and the C-leg 4 transitions smoothly from stable stance to swing. Stance release is consistent and effortless lending itself to improving the user’s confidence in the prosthesis. This means that small steps, walking over uneven ground or sand these are all possible with the C-leg 4
