Benefits at a glance
Walk more naturally
The WalkOn Reaction junior enables a more natural physiological gait. This unique design supports extension and flexion of the knee during walking enabling your child’s gait pattern to become smoother. This also applies to children with higher activity levels, who require greater support for knee extension.
Fewer compensating movements
Compensating movements often result in signs of wear. The WalkOn Reaction junior can reduce these with its high energy return. The energy stored during heel strike is released by the orthosis during the rollover movement of the foot. This helps your child walk more symmetrically. The special alignment of the orthosis provides a more natural posture during standing as well.
Robust, durable, and safe
Your child’s safety is increased as the WalkOn Reaction junior supports and lifts their foot during the swing phase while walking. The risk of catching the tip of the foot, for example on carpet edges or uneven ground, is reduced. The WalkOn Reaction junior is especially robust and the orthosis has proven its durability in various tests and long-term functional testing.
Appropriate for shoes
The orthosis can be worn in standard sturdy shoes. The only need is to make sure that the shoe has a reinforced heel. To put on the orthosis, you should ideally start by positioning the WalkOn Reaction junior in the shoe, then the child can then simply step in with their foot.
Comfortable, lightweight, discreet and easy care
The WalkOn Reaction junior is lightweight, slim and fits discreetly under clothing. With high wearer comfort due to low weight, open heel design and the anatomically designed frontal support element.
A shin pad makes it even more comfortable as it is made of climate-regulating material for improved skin hygiene. It is made of a temperature-regulating material, which reduces heat development and perspiration. All fabric parts can be washed and replaced.
Robust and durable
The WalkOn Reaction junior is especially robust. The orthosis has proven its durability in various tests and long-term functional testing.

We recommend that you place the orthosis into the shoe first and then insert your foot. Then you can simply fasten the hook-and-loop closures.
No, but you should use a sturdy shoe with a reinforced heel. It is important that the orthosis fits firmly so that it moves as little as possible. We also recommend a heel height of 10 mm. Alternatively, this can be determined by your technician. Your other shoes should of course have the same heel height.
Yes, physical exercise is not only possible but also to be recommended. Speak to your O&P professional for advice on which sports are most beneficial for your child and how best to use the orthosis during sports. Extreme and abrupt movements should certainly be avoided.
The orthosis should be wiped regularly using water and a mild cleaning agent. All pads and closures are combined, and all textile components can be washed and replaced. We recommend washing the pad at least twice a week (machine washable at 40°C).
Replacement pads can of course be ordered through your O&P professional, who will also adjust them as necessary.
